The Long County High School football team is at home tonight to take on the undefeated Benedictine Military Academy.

The Cadets bring a perfect 4-0 record into the game and are sitting at 1-0 in Region 2-AA after bearing Pierce County 44-7 last week.

In BC’s three other games, they beat Windsor Forrest 7-6, Savannah High 31-6, and Jeff Davis 25-0. In those victories, the Cadets outscored the opponents 107-19.

The Blue Tide, 0-3, has yet to win a game.

The Tide is coming off of its worst loss of the year, a lop-sided 40-0 defeat to McIntosh County. Long County also lost to Appling County (35-7) and to Johnson High School (33-14).

Last week, the Tide had several starters out or limited in action. This week, they are in a better shape, but will probably be without starting running back/linebacker Marcus Williams.

According to head coach Kyle Wilson, Williams injured his shoulder and probably will miss tonight’s game.

Fortunately for the Tide, Wilson said quarterback Jake Durham and running back Brandon Hope will play, and wide receiver Donte Brown will likely go in.

Regarding the game against the Cadets, Wilson said his team will have to, "Run, run, run, and more run. We know what they’re going to do. We just have to try and stop them.

"We have been practicing hard. All we can do is try to fix all of our problems and keep trying to get better," the coach said.

Tonight’s game is at Veteran’s Stadium in Ludowici at 7:30 p.m.
