SAVANNAH — Former University of Georgia football coach and athletic director Vince Dooley will be the guest speaker at the second anniversary Scholarship Gala at Bethesda Academy from 6:30-10:30 p.m. May 15 at 9520 Ferguson Ave. to celebrate the school’s 275th anniversary and the class of 2015.
Dooley will share his experiences as an educator, historian and coach.
“I am very honored to be asked to speak at the Bethesda Academy Scholarship Gala on the occasion of its 275th anniversary,” Dooley said. “This historic educational institution has an unsurpassed record of educating young boys for every success in life, while emphasizing those steadfast values of spirituality, integrity and accountability.”
Proceeds from the gala benefits the school’s Gateway Scholarship Fund, a component of Bethesda’s financial-aid program.
“The Savannah community and supporters of Bethesda are invited to join us for an elegant evening of fine dining, live music and dancing at our beautiful campus overlooking Moon River,” academy President David Tribble said. “We’re excited to celebrate the class of 2015 and commemorate this remarkable moment in Bethesda’s 275-year history.”
Tickets for the black-tie optional event are $150 per person and available online at www.bethesdaacademy.org.
