The Lady Panthers began their soccer season and participated in a recent tournament at Richmond Hill. With only one returning player from last season, many would think that the Lady Panthers would be in a rebuilding stage. But word from the sidelines indicate that the Lady Panthers are looking cohesive and are poised to have a strong defense.
During the tournament the Lady Panthers posted a strong defense and kicked their way to a 6-2 victory over the Lady Warriors of Jenkins High. It was their first victory for the season.
On Feb. 21, they played the Statesboro Lady Blue Devils and tied the game 1-1 during a bad rain. As of that date they stand at 1 win, 1 tie and 3 losses.
The Lady Panthers were scheduled to play Effingham County on Feb. 23. Results will be printed as they become available.
