As part of 4-H Day at the State Capitol, several members of Long County’s 4-H club recently attended the 9th annual Leadership Day in Georgia, sponsored by the Department of Community Affairs and the Georgia Rural Development Council, at the Georgia Freight Depot in Atlanta. The keynote speaker was coach Bill Curry, former NFL player, national sports analyst and coach of the Georgia State Panthers.
Leadership Day brings leaders from across Georgia together to share their best  practices and success stories and identify ways to improve leadership in Georgia. Combined with 4-H Day, it gives 4-H members an opportunity to learn about the leadership opportunities offered in their communities, listen to speakers, tour the Capitol and meet with their representatives.
Long County 4-H members Sean Sphar, Tori Cooper, Kayla Jenkins, Kaitlynn Walker, Mary Alexander, Megan Alexander and Sierra Blanchard also spoke with Gov. Sonny Perdue and Georgia State Rep. Roger Lane.
