Natives celebrate graduations and academic achievements

Parker

Celia V. Parker of Allenhurst graduated with a master's of arts in teaching degree Dec. 13 from Armstrong Atlantic State University through the Troops to Teachers program. She also earned a Kappa Delta Pi honor society nomination.


Deputy graduates

Edward Pitts II graduated Dec. 12, as a certified law enforcement officer from Armstrong Atlantic State University. He currently is employed by the Long County Sheriff's Department.

Basic military training

Air Force Airman Dennis E. Ross has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
He is the son of Janice Ross of Hinesville.
The airman is a 2006 graduate of Bradwell Institute in Hinesville.

Altamaha Technical College

The following Altamaha Technical College students from the Liberty County  area earned academic honors during fall quarter 2008. The President’s List recognizes students who earned a perfect 4.0 gpa, and the Vice President’s List consists of students who earned a minimum 3.5 gpa. To be eligible for either list, a student must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours during the quarter.
President’s List: Alicia Johnson, John Fischer, Lacey Graham, Daphne Smith and Jeremy Tillery.
Vice President’s List: Richard LeCounte.
