Carol Lynn Gillican and Robert Vernon Sikes were married May 3, 1947 by Magistrate Zorn in Ludowici. Ten years later, the couple renewed their vows in the First Methodist Church of Hinesville. The Sikes have three sons, Robert Clayton, Stephen Craig and Edward Gill. Mrs. Sikes says their devout faith in God has guided them through these 60 years. Bobby Sikes was a Liberty County sheriff for 28-1/2 years proudly serving his county with honor, distinction and integrity.
