Ja’Kayla La’Shaun Nelson was born at 3:38 a.m. May 2 to Chiquita Nelson of Hinesville and Andre Jackson of Savannah.

Born at Liberty Regional Medical Center, baby Ja’Kayla weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces and measured 20 inches.

The baby’s maternal grandmother is Dorothy Wilson of Hinesville.

The baby also is welcomed by brothers Xavier Nelson, Kanya Nelson and Keyaundre Nelson.
