THE SUEX EFFECT

First of all, it's not pronounced SOO-EX; that's urban slang for a particular sexual act, which we're not going to go into detail about here. The band name sounds like this: The SWAY Effect. That's a precise and punctual description of what people tend to do when the band is playing. It could be the groove effect, or the dance effect.

All pretty sexual, when you get down (ahem) to it.

From Athens, the Suex Effect - a frequent visitor to Savannah - is a sharply-honed rock ‘n' roll trio consisting of monster bassist Miles Karp, whose creative and percussive work gives the sound of Suex funk its distinctive and unmistakable edge; drummer Jon Daniels, and guitarist Ricky Barrett.

The Suex Effect providers an amalgam of sounds, from funk to psych to reggae, all of it delivered with blistering musicianship - and the salty/sweet taste of the unexpected.
