Holbrook Pond, off Highway 144, will be the setting for the first Community Outdoor Health Expo, a day centered on health, wellness and prevention, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
Liberty Regional Medical Center and Winn Army Hospital are partnering with FMWR to bring this free event to soldiers, families and civilians.
The expo will include exercise classes in zumba, yoga and crossfit. Wellness checks (cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure) and nutrition education will be given by MEDDAC and LRMC.
Plus, there will be a timed scavenger hunt and outdoor sports (canoeing, horseshoes, kayaking, paintball and volleyball). Kids are invited to bring stuffed animals to the Little Patches Clinic for some TLC. Vendors will have food for sale.

Kids fish
Kids, catch up to five catfish and maybe win a prize for the biggest during the free Kids Fishing Event (for kids ages 15 and under) Saturday at Holbrook Pond from 7-10 a.m.
Limited poles and bait will be available. Check-in is on the north side of the pond, and parking is on the south side. Liberty Bass Club will have a casting competition;

Army Ten-Miler
The top three men and women finishers in a qualifier race on Donovan Field will represent the 3rd ID in the All-Army Ten-Miler in Washington Oct. 12.
The free qualifier will start at 6 a.m. Saturday.
Register at 5:30 a.m. at the race. Family members, retirees and DoD civilians are welcome to run for fun, but only soldiers may qualify.

Skeet and tr
Hunter’s Skeet and Trap Range will have its quarterly 50-bird skeet/trap shoot from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Participants are asked to register by Thursday.

Get Golf-Ready
Enroll now for the Get Golf-Ready program June 10, 12, 14, 17 and 19 at Hunter Golf Course. Sign-ups will be accepted until June 9.
Get Golf-Ready is open to beginners looking for instruction and information. The cost is $149, and includes a one-month membership at the course, a dozen Nike golf balls, and five one-hour sessions covering mechanics, putting, the short game, rules and etiquette.

Father’s Day BBQ
Celebrate dad’s special day with the Father’s Day BBQ Celebration at Thunder Run in Club Stewart from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. June 15.
Enjoy all the barbecue you can eat. Breakfast items also will be served.
Buy your tickets in advance at the club and save $3 off the adult price and $1 off all children’s tickets. Prices at the door will be $15.95 for adults and $7.95 for children. Kids under 2 are free.

Babysitting course
Teens (ages 13-18) can become certified babysitters at the SKIES CYSSitter Teenage Babysitter Course from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. June 19, 20.
The free course will be in at SKIES Unlimited on Davis Avenue.

“Dirty-Up” run
Register now for the Dirty Up Flight Line 5K/10K Run at Hunter, which is open to all. It will start at 8 a.m. June 21.
All pre-registered participants will get T-shirts. Awards will be given to the top two winners in each age group.
There will also be static displays of military aircraft, vendors, live music and more.
Register online at Active.com. Registration costs $25 for DoD ID cardholders and $30 for others until June 8, when they go up $5. At the race, the fee is $45 per person.

Junior golf camp
Hunter Golf Course will host a golf camp for ages 7-13 from 8-9:30 a.m. June 23 and 24. Enroll by June 22.
The cost is $40 per person. The camp is designed to develop skills at all levels. It includes putting mechanics, approach shots, rules and etiquette.
Juniors can bring equipment. However, clubs will be provided for those who do not have their own.

Soldier Show
The 2014 Army Soldier Show, a Broadway-style revue featuring Army talent, is coming to Stewart’s Newman Fitness Center on June 28 and to Hunter’s Tominac Fitness Center on June 30.
Both performances are free and begin at 7 p.m. The theme for this year's production is "Stand Strong." The public is welcome.
Fall soccer
Registration continues through July 18 for Youth Fall Soccer Leagues at Hunter.
Play is open to boys and girls, ages 4-11. Practice begins in August and the season starts in September at Hunter and Savannah YMCA fields. Teams are coed.

Military registration day
Bring your military school-age child to register for the 2014-2015 Liberty County school year July 23 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Registration will take place at your specific school.
All schools register students, give information, provide class assignments, create schedules and answer academic and school-related questions.
Documentation needed: birth certificate, Social Security card, immunization records, medical screening, two proofs of residence, and previous report card/school transcripts.
