David Varnedoe Jr. and Elizabeth Roller
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walter Roller Jr. of Commerce are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Roller, to David Stafford Varnedoe Jr. of Jefferson.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Sgt. 1st Class Robert Walter Roller Sr. of Clover, Va., and Ms. Marion R. Carter of Columbus, as well as the late Mr. and Mrs. James Lamb Johnston of Sautee-Nacoochee. She is a graduate of Commerce High School and attended the University of West Georgia where she was a cheerleader and a member of the Chi Omega sorority. Later, she graduated from North Georgia College and State University with a dual degree in early childhood and special education. She is currently employed as a second grade teacher at East Jackson Elementary School in Commerce, as well as at East Jackson High School as the head cheerleading coach and assistant track coach.
The future bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Stafford Varnedoe Sr. of Hinesville. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl I. Varnedoe Sr. of Hinesville, and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lenieu Carter of Hinesville. He graduated from the Bradwell Institute and from Georgia College and State University, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He is currently employed as a financial advisor for Edward Jones Investments in Jefferson, is an elected member of the Jefferson City Council, and is on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Jackson County.
The wedding is planned for July 12 at the First Presbyterian Church in Athens with a reception at the Classic Center to follow.
