Editor, I recently visited your town and had occasion to go to St. Stephen's Catholic Church. There were a group of women all dressed in white from head to toe. They were all colors and races. They did a very moving and solemn ceremony that brought tears to my eyes. A beautiful little boy dressed in a suit played his part to a T. Then the ladies had all the children bring flowers up to the altar. You could actually hear a pin drop. How they got these children to behave so well, I sure would like to know.
I am writing because it was such a beautiful thing to witness and I had never seen anything like it before.
My sincere thanks to everyone at St. Stephen's and especially those ladies, who I later learned are called "The Legion of Mary," for one of the most spiritually moving experiences I have seen in a long time. It was really beautiful.
