Editor, The Hinesville Military Affairs Committee was responsible for organizing and coordinating community support for the food court that served at least 9,000 free meals to soldiers and their families as part of Fort Stewart’s “Worth Fighting For” Independence Day celebration.
We would like to thank the many businesses and organizations that stepped up to the plate and provided donations, food, beverages and other support to help HMAC with the food court and to make it such a tremendous success.
We also want to thank the more than 200 supporters and volunteers and the organizations that they represented. These supporters and volunteers helped to set up the food court and prepared and served meals to our heroes and their families.
To Col. Milton and the garrison staff, we thank you for allowing HMAC and our supporters to be part of the team that made this whole celebration such a resounding success.
Lastly, to the 3rd Infantry Division soldiers, thank you for your service. Because of the sacrifices Dog Face soldiers and their family member have made, we enjoy freedoms such as being able to celebrate our independence on the 4th of July and every day of the year. We are truly in your debt.
