Editor, On behalf of the Hospital Authority of Liberty County, Liberty Regional Foundation, and Liberty Regional Medical Center, we wish to express our sincere appreciation to each and every person who so graciously and selflessly contributed their time, energy and resources toward the success of our recent fundraiser to benefit the Lisa Marie Carter Cardiac Rehab Unit, which raised more than $21,000. 
A world of thanks goes out to all for their generosity in so many ways, whether it was assistance with organizing and planning, ticket sales and purchases, contributions, supplies, cooking, set-up and clean-up, and/or assisting with the distribution of the smoked Boston Butts and the raffle drawing on the day of the event.
Because of these efforts, residents of our community and the surrounding areas Liberty Regional Medical Center serves will benefit from the state-of-the-art echocardiography equipment that proceeds from the fundraiser have been used to purchase through the foundation. Echocardiography provides the latest in advanced diagnostic capabilities, creating detailed images of the intricacies of the heart.  This valuable information is critical to the prevention and treatment of heart disease.
We’d like to extend a very special thank-you to the Carter family — Don, Nila, Brian and Jennifer — for their special and ongoing interest in our Cardiac Rehab Unit which was named in honor and memory of their daughter Lisa.  We offer our deepest gratitude for their tireless dedication to this and past fundraising efforts.
