Restaurant quickly fixed air conditioning

Editor, In response to the a letter from Tommy McCaskill, a reader, that was published in the Costal Courier on June 26, regarding a visit he made to a Church’s Chicken store in Hinesville, I’d like to offer some perspective about the incident.
The reader expressed deep concern for the well-being of both the employees and patrons of Church’s Chicken because of a broken air conditioning system in the store. We are very glad to see the community speak out for their fellow citizens, our employees and customers, but we want to underscore the fact that Church’s Chicken also cares about its employees and customers. As a franchisee and store manager of this unit, we demonstrated this through quickly taking action.
The store manager notified me of the issue so I called two repair companies the same day the unit broke down. In fact, the calls were placed several days before the letter was published here in the Courier. I was advised that it would take some weeks to get the appropriate parts in to repair the system adequately. Upon hearing that there would be a delay, I drove to South Carolina from Hinesville to secure three large air conditioning units. Thus, over $5,000 was spent to repair the air conditioning unit as quickly as possible.
A comfortable experience for our customers as well as our employees is a priority at our restaurants.  We take this extremely seriously and as you can see, since the incident the store manager and I worked together, despite the circumstances, to correct the situation as quickly as we possibly could.
We thank the loyal customers of Hinesville for their patronage, and we thank them for their concerns. Church’s Chicken wouldn’t be where it is today without the support of the community. Community is a core value of our brand. We also want our customers to know that we hear you, and we’re listening.  The reader is right: Our employees are hard working and they endured the situation with great attitudes, and we would like to publically commend them as well as the store manager who jumped into action to resolve the issue.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.  Thank you.
