AJGT Oaks at Sherwood Junior Classic
Hinesville junior golfers ages 12-18 and college golfers are invited to compete in the AJGT Oaks at Sherwood Junior Classic, July 10-11 in Baton Rouge, La. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard and hosted by the Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour.
The tournament’s extended registration deadline is 6 p.m. today. To enter the event, call 504-289-8514 or visit www.arrowheadjgt.com. Discounted accommodations are available at the Baton Rouge Embassy Suites at a rate of $109 per night. Junior Blue Tide Football Camp
The Junior Blue Tide Football Camp for children ages 8-13 will be held July 12-14. Camp times are 8:30 a.m.-noon, and registration costs $25. Age exceptions may be made for younger campers with permission from head Coach Kyle Wilson. For more information, call Wilson at 424-8197.

Inspiration Cheerleading Academy final session

SGK Baller-size
SGK Baller-size workout sessions are held every Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the YMCA and every Monday and Wednesday from noon-3 p.m. at Faith Baptist Christian Academy. Sessions are led by South Georgia Kings founder and Coach Jessie Fleming. The fee is $10 per session.

Bradwell Lady Tigers softball
The Bradwell Lady Tigers softball team will continue conditioning for girls in grades eight through 12 from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Bradwell Field. Team tryouts are 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2. Girls must have a current sports physical to participate.

St. James children’s summer camp ongoing
St. James’ summer camp continues for children ages 5-13. Participants can register at any time in person or via e-mail at st_jamescenter@hotmail.com. Camp hours are from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, but will be closed on holidays. The fee is $50 per week.

Inaugural Sunbury 5K run/walk
Sponsors, volunteers and participants are needed for the first Sunbury 5K run/walk, set for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25. Proceeds benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and the American Diabetes Association. Registration costs $25 per person, and the race is open to all ages; however, those younger than 18 must have waivers signed by parents or guardians, according to the Active.com site.
The race starts at the Sunbury Crab Company and the course will take participants through the neighborhoods of Sunbury. Prizes will be awarded in different age groups and all registered participants will receive T-shirts and entry into the Sunbury Blue Crab Festival. Cat Walk submissions

Bradwell Institute is building a “Cat Walk of Fame” featuring former BI athletes who played sports on the college level. Tiger Coach Jeff Miller and his assistants have a partial list of athletes and are gathering names and photos, but they’d like more.
To be eligible for the Cat Walk of Fame, the former athlete must have graduated from Bradwell Institute,  gone on to play sports at the college level and graduated from college. The Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum Flying Fortress 5K Run
The Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum will host its inaugural Flying Fortress 5K Run at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, to benefit the restoration of the museum’s B-17 bomber. Registration is $25 but discounted fees are available to those who register in advance. The run is sponsored by Fleet Feet Sports in Savannah. Additional sponsors and donations are welcome.
