Guyton sports fest set for this weekend has been postponed

Former Bradwell Institute football player and current Miami Dolphin Gary Guyton had to postpone his annual camp due to personal reasons. The camp will tentaively be rescheduled for some time in June or early July. More information will be forthcoming.



Blue Tide football
parent/player meeting Monday

Long County football coach Ron Flott will host a meeting to discuss the upcoming Blue Tide season at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 30, at the Smiley Elementary School cafeteria in Ludowici. All parents, potential parents and returning players are encouraged to attend. For more information, call 977-2496.



Friends of Manna House
set golf tourney for May 12

The Friends of Manna House will host a golf tournament Saturday, May 12, at Cherokee Rose Country Club in Hinesville. Tournament is limited to the first 18 teams registered. The cost is $50 plus two canned-food goods per player, or $200 plus eight canned food goods per team. South Georgia Basketball league
The South Georgia Basketball League is looking for teams for the upcoming summer program. The games will take place at Myers Middle School in Savannah and run from May 21 through July 9. It is open to boys and girls and will offer separate divisions for AAU/YBOA teams, community recreation teams and age specific teams. The entry fee is $200 with eight games and a post season tournament guarantee. The deadline to enter is May 8. Southeast Georgia Shootout
The Southeast Georgia Shootout will be held May 4-6 in Savannah and is currently accepting team registrations. The boys’ and girls’ division is open to fifth through twelfth grade teams. The fee is $200 per team and the deadline is April 30. Each team is guaranteed three games. Teams must have white and dark jerseys. Trophies will be awarded in each division. The first game will start at 6:30 p.m. on May 4.

YMCA T-Ball
YMCA T-ball registration for players ages 3-7 is under way. The season starts at the end of May. For more information, call 368-9622.

Registration for the YMCA spring basketball begins May 5 and is open for ages 7-12. Call 368-9622.

Jiu Jitsu Training
Wolf Pack Jiu Jitsu training currently is open for ages 8 and older. Classes for ages 8-12 are 5:30-6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; ages 13 and older are from 6:30-7:30 p.m. For more information, call Wolf Pack Jiu Jitsu at 368-1123.
