YMCA plans
summer camps
The YMCA has several summer sports camps planned. Here is the schedule:
• Football camp: June 7-11, 10-11 a.m. for ages 5-7, and 11 a.m.-noon for ages 8-14.
• Soccer camp: June 14-18, 10-11 a.m. for ages 5-7, and 11 a.m.-noon for ages 8-14.
• Basketball camp: June 21-25, 9-11 a.m. for ages 5-7, and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for ages 8-14.

2010 Riverstreet Summer Classic
Registration is being accepted for the 2010 Riverstreet Summer Classic Tournament on June 18-20 in Jacksonville, Fla. The fee is $325 per team and is open to all age groups.

Bradwell Lady Tigers Softball conditioning
Bradwell Lady Tigers Softball Team will continue conditioning Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-7:30 at Bradwell Field for girls in grades 8-12.

Scott’s All-Stars first annual banquet
Scott’s All-Stars basketball team will host its first banquet, themed "All-Stars At All Costs," from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, June 19, at the Econo Lodge banquet room, 726 E. Oglethorpe Highway.
Hinesville Mayor Jim Thomas will be the guest speaker and Attorney General Thurbert Baker, who is a gubernatorial candidate, will be the keynote speaker.

St. James summer camp registration
Registration for the St. James summer camp is ongoing. Participants can register in person or via e-mail at st_jamescenter@hotmail.com.
The camp is open to children ages 5-13. Camp hours are from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, but will be closed on holidays. The fee is $50 per week.

Cheerleading Academy
Inspiration Cheerleading Academy is hosting camps. Session one is running through July 2 and session two will run from July 12-31.

20th annual Summer Slam is set
The 20th annual Summer Slam is scheduled for July 4 at Salter’s Field, off Highway 84 next to the new section of Highway 196 in the McIntosh community. Admission is $5 per person and gates open at 1 p.m.
A large crowd is expected, so come early and stay late. A music contest is scheduled for 2, followed by a car, bike and truck contest at 3 and a concert at 5. Vendors, musicians and vehicle contestants interested in participating should call Ernie Walthour at 980-4559 for details.
2010 Tiger Tee-Off Tournament
The Harvey Overton Bradwell Institute Booster Club will host its annual Tiger Tee-Off at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at the Cherokee Rose Country Club. The tournament will be a four-person scramble.
The entry fee is $50 per person, $200 per team. First-place winners will receive $300, second-place $200, third-place $100 and anyone who gets a hole-in-one on the 13th will win a car, courtesy of Hinesville Ford. For more information, call 912-478-2016 or 876-5503.
