Shooting event set
Mission Essentials in Hinesville host its inaugural Take Your Daughter to the Range Day. The event will take place from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at 918B Hollywood Drive in Hinesville.
The event is open to everyone, but the focus will be for girls ages 6-18. There will be a drawing for a pink .22-caliber rifle and other giveaway prizes, snacks and promotional items from different distributors.

Jiu Jitsu training available for youth
Wolf Pack Jiu Jitsu training is open for ages 8 and older. Classes for ages 8-12 are 5:30-6:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; ages 13 and older are from 6:30-7:30 p.m. For more information, call Wolf Pack Jiu Jitsu at 368-1123.



Soccer tryouts
The Hinesville Gators will hold tryouts for their 11-and-under and 12-and-under boys’ and girls’ academy teams and the 13-and-under boys’ and girls’ select teams. The tryouts will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday May 29, and Tuesday June 5, at the St. James Sports Center’s soccer field.

All-Star game here
The Hinesville Hurricanes semi-professional football team will host this year’s United Spring Football League’s All-Star Game at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Long Bell Stadium. Admission will be $5 for adults; children 12 and younger get in free. Current high-school football players for Bradwell Institute, Liberty County High School, Richmond Hill High School, Long County High and First Presbyterian Christian Academy will receive free admission with proof they are on the roster. Raffle tickets will be sold and prizes awarded during halftime. Winners must be present to claim prize. For more information about the game, call 269-0830 or 977-4375.

R.H. soccer tryouts
The Richmond Hill Soccer Club is holding tryouts for select and academy soccer for the fall season 2012. The tryouts will be held at Devaul Henderson Park on Hwy 144 east in Richmond Hill (intersection of Hwy 144 and Belfast River Road). Tryouts for ages U8-U12 academy and U13 select will be held on Tues-Thurs May 29-31. Tryouts for U13-U19 select will be held on Tues-Thurs June 5-7. 2012 Tiger Tee-Off set
The 2012 Tiger Tee-Off Golf Tournament is set for 1 p.m. June 9, at the Cherokee Rose Country Club in Hinesville. The tournament, sponsored by the Harvey Overton Bradwell Booster Club, is a four person scramble with a respectable handicap. Entries fees are $50 per person or $200 per team. First place winner receive $300, second $200 and third $100. Hinesville Ford will award a vehicle to a hole-in-one at a designated location on the golf course.
