It’s not every day that you see three brothers attending the same university on football scholarships, but the Bennett brothers of Hinesville are doing just that.
According to the Tuskegee Golden Tigers football media guide, Tuskegee may be the only college football team in the nation with three brothers on its football roster.
Trier Bennett is in his junior year, his brother Aaron is a sophomore and Jovan is a freshman for the Golden Tigers. All three graduated from Liberty County High School, and all three are starting to make an impact on the Golden Tigers’ squad.
Trier Bennett (6 feet 2, 314 pounds) is listed as one of the key returning defensive tackles. In the past two seasons, he posted 13 tackles and two sacks.
Aaron Bennett (6 feet 1, 283 pounds) filled in the defensive line position left vacant by a graduating player. Last season, he posted 13 tackles.
Last week in a critical game against Miles College, Aaron Bennett sacked quarterback David Thomas for a 6-yard loss and knocked the ball loose. Tuskegee’s Chris Williams picked up the ball and ran to the Miles 6-yard line. That set up a Tigers touchdown to give them a 27-19 lead. Tuskegee held on to win, 27-25.
Aaron Bennett finished the game with seven tackles and a sack. Trier Bennett had four tackles and a sack. Jovan Bennett (6 feet 2, 270 pounds), still learning the system, is an offensive lineman.
