Evangelist Anne Graham Lotz is posing a challenge to Christians across America, encouraging the faithful to join her in trying to collectively "ignite revival."

Lotz daughter of renowned Christian leader the Rev. Billy Graham published a Facebook post on Wednesday asking whether her followers "long for revival," which is essentially a sweeping and renewed cultural interest in faith.

"Do you long for revival?" she asked. "Not just a tent meeting. Not just a series of church meetings, but an outpouring of Gods spirit where Gods people wake up in their relationship with God."

Watch Lotz's call for revival here.

Lotz whose call for renewed and reinvigorated faith comes as many religious leaders warn that American culture is in peril said that she's hoping and praying for increased interest in the Bible.

She also cited past biblical examples of times in which the reading aloud of scripture helped to spark revival.

"In II Chronicles when King Josiah rediscovered the Word of God, he read it out loud to the people and they experienced revival," Lotz said. "In the book of Nehemiah, after Gods people had been in captivity for 70 years, they came back to Jerusalem and Ezra, the scribe, got up before them and he just read the Word of God, and they had revival."

The evangelist then offered up a pointed challenge, asking her followers to pause amid the chaos of life and make a concerted effort to listen to the Bible.

"In these days of chaos and confusion, hopelessness and helplessness, what would happen if everyone hit lifes pause button and made time to listen to what God has to say?" reads a description on the "God Speaking" initiative's website. "Lets find out."

The idea is to listen to a total of eight hours of the Bible over the first eight days of August a committment that requires the faithful to devote just one hour of each day to consuming scripture.

People can sign up to take part in Lotz's Bible challenge, which starts on Aug. 1 and concludes on Aug. 8, by visiting her "God Speaking" website.

Participants will receive daily Bible audio in their email boxes, will be able to choose from 900 different languages and from a collection of dramatized and non-dramatized scripture readings.

Prayer has been a subject that is central to Lotz's Christian message of late, with the author recently releasing the book, The Daniel Prayer: Prayer That Moves Heaven and Changes Nations."

In an interview with The Church Boys podcast earlier this year, Lotz said that prayer is "critical" to securing the future of the nation.

Listen to her comments.

Every single area of our existence and our culture government, education, social, race, you name it has major problems, she said back in May. No one person can resolve all this unless hes Jesus.

Lotz added, America needs healing right now.

The evangelist was also recently chosen as the chairwoman for the National Day of Prayer Task Force, a group that encourages nationwide "personal repentance and righteousness in the culture."

The organization will hold the next national day of prayer on May 17, 2017.
