Often during the harvest season we want to focus more on the reaping and gathering aspect. However, today we want to focus on the one that blessed us with the harvest.

St. John 15:5(b) let us know without God we can do nothing. Today, the harvest is still great but the problem is still laborers are few. The world appears drunk, people are angry and things seem to be in such a chaos, and because of this we must recognize the Lord of the harvest and do like Matthew 9:38 says: "Ask the Lord of the harvest therefore, to send out workers into his harvest." Lord send forth ambassadors into the world that will declare your glory and reveal to men that you are still healing, saving, redeeming, making men whole and giving them eternal life. Lord send forth workers that will show a trouble world your peace, your love and your joy.

This season we must remember the words of the prophet in Jeremiah 5:24 who said that it is the Lord of the harvest that gives us the weeks of the harvest and it’s him that gives us the seasons. It is the Lord of the harvest that allows us to harvest good things to both sow and reap.

The psalmist said in Psalm 107:37-38 that the Lord of the harvest wants us blessed because when you sow in the fields and plant vineyards that may yield fruits of increase, it is the Lord of the harvest that blesseth them so much that they are multiplied. During this season if you want to be blessed coming and going, honor the Lord of the harvest.

Let us reflect back throughout the year how the Lord of the harvest has brought us through floods, hurricane after hurricane and so much more, and we are still blessed this season. Satan would prefer that we reflect on all the trouble and turmoil that’s transpiring in the world to cause us to fear and lose hope. The Lord of the harvest said in St. John 10:10 "The thief cometh not, but for to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

People of the Lord, he wants us to be blessed but he desires for us to honor him, love him and serve him this season. Let this season be a season of thanksgiving and let us be guilty of Psalm 100:4. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

The difference between our fathers and mothers of old is they reverenced the Lord of the harvest and they had good success. If only America would bless God like it once did. God would bless America like he once did.

Let’s remember the Lord of the harvest this season. Let’s celebrate him this season as we reflect on all he has done for us. The Christian hymn entitled "Great is Thy Faithfulness" sums up the greatness of the Lord of the harvest. The chorus says "Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; all I have needed thy hand hath provided. Great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!"
