Letter to the editor: Annual back-to-school rally another big success
letter to editor new

Dear Editor,

The 28th annual Back 2 School rally was another huge success. We give a big thank you to the Coastal Courier for its coverage and to other media outlets.

The theme was “Strengthen the arms of the families.” Thank you Liberty County and surrounding areas.

Project Reach G.A.N.G. Inc. and executive director Lavonia LeCounte give all credit to God for inspiring them to host this outstanding event. A special thanks to all the program participants, sponsors, vendor participants, youth, and parents. There would not have been a rally without you. The rally was indeed a blessing to our county and a tremendous success: Teachers and paraprofessionals received gift cards and baskets to stock their classrooms, and graduating seniors attending college or technical college received laptops and chrome books.

Plans have begun for the 29th Annual Back to School Rally. The rally will be held on July 10, 2027, with a tentative location of Liberty County High School. Contact us at projectreach_ gang@yahoo.com to obtain a preregistration form.

Project Reach G.A.N.G. Inc. thanks each of you from the bottom of its heart.

The 28th Annual Back to School Rally sponsors and supporters - if you contributed and your name is not listed, it is because your information was received after the printing of this letter to the editor. Thank you!

A very special thanks to the Liberty County School System for the use of its grounds and the great support, and a super big thanks to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office for its support and security. A big shout to Andre’ Oliver and Amman Temple No. 82 and students/soldiers from Savannah Technical College, Rodrick Randell and Phi Beta Sigma fraternity, Alexis Allen and volunteers from 1788th Quartermaster Company, Destiny LeCounte and team, Shante Clesca, Nurse Kim Halverson of LCSS, and Liberty Regional Medical Center’s Kylie McGregor.

We could not have done this without God and your support. We hope to see you at our 29th Annual Back to School Rally on Saturday, July 10, 2027, at 10 a.m. Plans are already in motion to ensure that no family will leave without.
