Psalm 107:1 tells us to “Give Thanks to the Lord, for he is good...” During this Thanksgiving season, we have much to be thankful for as a result of the goodness of God.  
How is God good to humanity? He gives us water to drink and food to eat. He gives us talents and abilities to work and make a living. He gives us sunshine, as well as rain, and a beautiful planet to enjoy.
The most important act of goodness from God is his willingness to come to Earth in the form of his son, Jesus Christ. He gave us an example of how to live and gave the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. His goodness offers us mercy, even though we don’t deserve it.  
Because God is good he has prepared a place called heaven for all who will accept his free gift of salvation, which is available to any person regardless of race, gender, nationality or social class.
Take time today to offer up a prayer thanking God for his goodness to you.
