After nine years of dedicated and faithful service, Liberty Prayer Chapel in the heart of Hinesville is celebrating another anniversary.
Anniversary services will be Thursday, Sept. 1, through Sunday, Sept. 4. The 2011 anniversary theme is “Leading by Example.”
The celebration begins at 7 p.m. that Thursday, with internationally known spiritual leader, Dr. Rod Parsley, founder and senior pastor of the 10,000-member World Harvest Church in Columbus, Ohio.
“We are excited that Pastor Rod is coming to Hinesville again. His last visit was over five years ago,” Liberty Prayer Chapel Pastor Katrina Deason said.
Parsley serves as a television host, evangelist, educator, humanitarian and statesman. He also has written more than 50 books and study guides, including the New York Times bestseller “Silent No More.”
“Because we needed more seating, my good friends Pastors Charles and Nancy Kornegay have graciously agreed to help us house the service with Dr. Rod Parsley at Liberty Tabernacle of Prayer for all People, which is located at 1272 Kelly Drive. Doors will open at 5 p.m.,” Deason said.
Anniversary services will continue at 7 p.m. Friday with Pastor Donald Battle of Divine Faith Ministries International of Atlanta.
With a membership of more than 8,000 members, Divine Faith is now one church in three locations: Jonesboro, Buford and the Generation Now youth facility also in Jonesboro.
Services will culminate at 10 a.m. Sunday with Mother Ellen Parsley of World Harvest Church. She is the mother of Dr. Parsley.
“Mother Parsley has ministered at Liberty Prayer Chapel on several occasions,” Deason said.
“One of the local pastors recently told me that these kinds of events are to bless the city, not just one individual church, and I completely agree,” she said. “Although we have received calls from Florida, South Carolina and many different parts of Georgia about these services, it is my desire to see Hinesville and Liberty County enjoy a time of refreshing in the presence of the Lord.”
Free seating is available for Thursday’s service at Liberty Tabernacle of Prayer. Preregistered seating also is available for pastors, ministers and church leaders. The services on Friday and Sunday will be at Liberty Prayer Chapel, 302 W. Memorial Dr.
