Remember that God gives us the rain
pastor corner

During spring, it’s not uncommon to receive a lot of rain. And it’s not uncommon for us to complain about it.
Rain can put a damper in our plans, especially if they are to be held outside. Heavier rain means that we have to use our umbrellas and be more cautious in our driving. There are even songs written about rain being depressing, like “Rainy Days and Mondays.”
We need to remember that everything created by God has a purpose. In the book of Acts, it is said about the Lord that, “He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons.” Actually, rain is good. Without it, we would have no food being raised. Without it, we eventually would have no water to drink. In reality, we could not survive for very long if all of a sudden the rains would stop. Throughout history, all the way up to today, there has been much suffering because of drought.
So the next time you are tempted to complain about the rain, remember that all things are created for our good. Lift up a prayer of thanksgiving instead.
