Davita Dialysis nurses Gene Wells and Debra Griffin talked to Goldenheirs at the group’s October meeting. The nurses teach patients how to use their dialysis equipment at home.
Their goal is to promote kidney awareness. The No. 1 cause of kidney failure is diabetes, and high blood pressure is the No. 2 cause. This especially is true in older people.
Goldenheirs, a senior group, also met Nov. 1 in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Hinesville. Representatives from the Liberty County Tax Assessors’ office were the featured speakers.
Plans for the Christmas luncheon were finalized during the meeting.
