Registered nurse Brenda McMillan, a blood pressure analyst for St. Joseph’s/Candler Home Health Care, spoke at the Goldenheirs’ October meeting.
She said St. Joseph’s home health-care service is designed to provide continuous care during a patient’s transition from hospital to home. Care is administered by a team of professionals, including nurses, home health assistants, medical social workers, physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists.
To meet the needs of home-care patients, treatment programs include a range of services such as recurrent visits by a home-care staff member to on-call clinical support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Goldenheirs meet at noon on the first Tuesday of each month for a covered-dish lunch and a program. All seniors are invited.
Committee members have tickets for the Christmas dinner. Call Joyce Laseter at 369-8692 for more information.
