The Jesup Air Evac Lifeteam base recently was named the Region 3 Base of the Year, an honor presented for best exemplifying the company’s mission, which includes community service, education and scene work. Region 3 consists of bases in Georgia, Alabama and parts of Tennessee.
Jeff Davis, the regional director of base operations, said the Jesup base in the past year has accomplished great things through teamwork and a commitment to building positive relationships with agencies in its service area.
“Through the employees’ continued efforts to provide education and awareness of rapid access to definitive health care, they have developed relationships, which have resulted in sustained growth,” Davis said. “Each employee is engaged in his or her commitment to exceed patient and customer expectations. The unity among the program director, medical crews, pilots, maintenance and membership is second to none. The team at the Jesup base believes that it is called to serve others, and this is seen in the positive attitude shown to each patient, family members and customer.”
Air Evac Lifeteam, an air medical service, provides access to health care for those who live in medically underserved areas. Flight crews — consisting of a pilot, flight nurse and flight paramedic — are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to emergencies and provide transportation between medical facilities. Air Evac Lifeteam operates 115 bases in 15 states.
