The Liberty County Health Department began giving influenza and
pneumonia immunizations Oct. 1.
The cost for the flu shot is $25 and the pneumonia shot is $14. Other adult immunizations are also available, including tetanus/diphtheria, the hepatitis series and shingles.
Vaccines will be provided during weekday clinic hours of 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and appointments are re-
commended. Call 876-2173, extension 202, 203 or 204, to make an appointment.
Residents with ambulatory difficulties may call 876-2173, extension 236, to learn about other October immunization options.
Upper respiratory infections with flu-like symptoms have already been noted in the northern states and physicians are recommending that adults and children get their yearly flu shots now so that their bodies have time to build up immunity against the virus.
