SAVANNAH — West Rehab & Sports Medicine — a provider of physical therapy, sports medicine and personal training services headquartered in Savannah — recently hired Meghan Moore as a registered and licensed occupational therapist, OTR/L, at the company’s Hinesville and Richmond Hill locations.
In her position, Moore will work with patients suffering from musculoskeletal or cognitive disorders, as well as those recovering from surgery or avoiding surgery, and help them return to optimal functioning in all normal daily activities.
In addition, she will address patient deficits with therapeutic activities to increase strength and range of motion and decrease pain. She also will work with children of all ages to address cognitive, sensory, fine motor and visual motor deficits for increased ability to participate in school and/or play.
Prior to joining West Rehab, Moore served as an occupational therapist at Southern Orthopedics in Brunswick, where she focused on hand therapy.
Originally from Ocean Springs, Miss., Moore earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Spring Hill College and a Master of Science in occupational therapy from the University of South Alabama.
She also is PAM certified in Georgia, which means she can perform physical agent modalities. Examples of PAMs include therapeutic ultrasound, electrical stimulation, light therapy and electromagnetic energy.
