Locals advance military careers

Army Pfc. Patrick W. Bean has graduated from the basic field artillery cannon crew member advanced individual training course at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla. Bean is the son of Patrick W. and Marion D. Bean of Midway.

Graves, USS New Orleans crew depart Point Loma
Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Bryan R. Graves and fellow crew members aboard the amphibious transport dock USS New Orleans, home ported in San Diego, Calif., recently departed Naval Base Point Loma after completing a six-day demagnetizing evolution in preparation for the ship’s scheduled deployment.
Graves is the son of Lori J. Graves of Allenhurst and Terrence R. Graves of Lakewood, Wash. He is a 2006 graduate of Yelm High School in Yelm, Wash. and joined the Navy in August 2006.

Eskew enlists under delayed entry program
Christopher M. Eskew recently enlisted in the U.S. Navy under the delayed entry program at the Navy Recruiting District in Raleigh, N.C. Eskew will report for active duty to undergo basic training at the Navy’s Recruit Training Center in Great Lakes, Ill.
He is the son of Christine M. Grimm of Allenhurst and Michael A. Eskew of Havelock, N.C. Eskew is a 2010 graduate of Havelock High School in Havelock.

Burnam graduates basic training
Navy Seaman Recruit Brandi D. Burnam recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.
She is the daughter of Denise M. Burnam of Hinesville and Leroy Burnam of Virginia Beach, Va. Burnam is a 2010 graduate of Bradwell Institute.
