Girls from around the region recently dusted off their best cowboy hats and donned their favorite western attire to be a part of the 2013 Miss Long County Wildlife Pageant.
The event was held during last week’s Wildlife Festival and conducted by KIDZ-ETC. The pageant was divided into age categories ranging from newborn all the way up to 99 years old. Two overall winners were crowned — one for the younger girls and one for the older contestants.  This year, the overall queen for the 7-and-older division was Ashley Middleton. The overall queen for 6-and-younger division was Carleigh Langley.
Other pageant winners were Kali Cammack, who won the baby miss crown; Trinity Boutwell, who won the tiny miss crown; Jasanna Moody, who won the most-sponsored crown; and Natalia Matos, who won the toddler miss crown and the people’s choice award.
Maryn Rockwood won the petite miss division; Jennifer Ramirez won the junior miss division; Melana Linville won the miss division; and Alicea Nix won the tiny miss best western wear award.
Karena Espey emceed the pageant, and 2013 Miss Ludowici Hillary Altman presented awards to this year’s winners.  Proceeds from the pageant fund KIDZ-ETC. scholarships.
