Photo contest aims to get kids perspective of county
KidsPhotoContest2016

The Liberty County Convention and Visitors Bureau is having a photography contest open to kids ages 6-12.

Photographs must be taken in Liberty County. The theme, “#nofilterneeded” is a chance for youth photographers to highlight what they love in the community and how they experience Liberty County, whether it is an event, a scenic view or a favorite destination. Photos without filters are sought to reflect the natural beauty in the community.

Judges will include people skilled in art/photography and elected officials who will consider style and content.

A $100 Wal-Mart gift card will be awarded to the first-place winner. Second- and third-place winners will receive goody bags from the CVB.

“Kids have a great eye and lots of enthusiasm,” program manager Amanda Scott said. “So we’re hoping they’ll be able to capture that through their photos. We live in a location filled with unique historical and scenic treasures, and seeing that through a kid’s perspective is something special.

Details, release forms and registration forms are available by email at tourism@lib ertycounty.org or by calling 912-368-3580. Entries must be received by 5 p.m. May 6.
