STATESBORO – Bradwell Institute junior track star Jacoby Pasley captured three first-place finishes in the Region 1-AAAAA track meet, held Thursday at Statesboro High School.
Pasley won the 100-meter dash in 10.57 seconds, and followed that with wins in the 200 and 400. Pasley took the 200 in 21.33 seconds and won the 400 with a time of 47.95 seconds.
The Bradwell boys captured five first-places in all, as Antionne Burnett took the triple jump with a best of 44 feet, 9 inches and the 4x400 meter relay team clocked a time of 3:23.44.
Martavius Phillips was second in the 300-meter hurdles at 38.98 seconds.
Teron Moore was third in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.94 seconds, and the boys 4x200 meter relay was third at 1:31.54.
The girls 4x100 meter relay was second, coming in at 48.48 seconds.
Jamaika Sumpter posted one of the girls’ top finishes with a third in the 100 meters, coming in at 12.39 seconds, and Vicky Foday-Kapka was third in the 100 hurdles at 16.04 seconds.
The Bradwell boys finished fifth with 89 points, one point behind Lakeside-Evans. Glynn Academy took the team title with 132 points, 16 ahead of runner-up Brunswick. The Bradwell girls were eighth in the team standings with 43 points. Lakeside-Evans, with 173 points, was a runaway winner. Second-place South Effingham finished with 103 points.
The state sectional track meet will be held Saturday at Greenbrier High School.
