I would like to take the opportunity to thank the Golden Corral for hosting a fundraiser for the DMV.

To the person at school board that used the race card: Stop doing that. You are in charge of all the children — all colors, all cultures — in this area. All of us have gone to work and been criticized no matter what race we are. We have to suck it up because there’s people that just don’t like us. And that’s OK. If you don’t want any criticism, then don’t go into any higher-up jobs because all of us, no matter what our color, will be criticized. And what Condoleeza Rice said, if you call someone a racist, look in the mirror first.

To Councilman Jenkins: I see in the paper where it said that you have talked to the people in your district that the grocery store affects. There’s about six people that the grocery store affects that’s right there. You haven’t been to no house and contact us. That is untrue; we haven’t seen you in our district to give our opinions.

Working at Winn Army Community Hospital is sad because we get no raises. There are no promotions for the employees.

On Monday, the Midway mayor and city council voted to increase our water and sewer fees by well over 30 percent. For over three days last week, my water, my house and I smelled like sulphur when I tried to take a shower. Remember when the mayor wanted to shut off the water for anyone who paid late because the city failed to mail out the bills on time? I do.
