Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Why were there no pictures from last Saturday’s bird show at LeConte-Woodmanston or the BOSS car show on post, at the education center. Why no pictures?

It is a shame for the people in the county to have to pay taxes, but the mosquitoes are out here eating up the people in the country. What are  you planning on doing about it?

Long County has assessed our farm taxes so high it is the equivalent of deeding them an acre of land a year every year until they own it all. I guess that is what they really want.

I read in Sunday’s paper where Mr. Mullice has now been appointed, ah, something at Coastal EMC. One of the things he needs to do is revamp that collections department.

I wonder if anyone else is getting a call from Medical Promo. I get calls from them quite often, but when I call back the number they provide says it is no longer in service.

I have seen the mosquito truck twice on Isle of Wight. But please don’t go 30 miles per hour, slow down and put out the spray. We’re about to be eaten up by these mosquitoes.

How come fire units from the Eastern District are dispatched west of I-95 in the Midway area when there are two other fire departments a whole lot closer?

A few weeks ago you announced about a new detective, but we can’t find it. He must be a pretty good private eye. But how are we supposed to find him, if we can’t find him?

Can the police department please check a house on McDowell Road in my neighborhood? There’s a lot of activity going on at night. The road is blocked with parked cars.
