Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Please put the government of Midway in the middle of Midway so people can come to town and see our little town. We just enjoy living in Midway now that we came from Savannah. Please put it in the Midway Mall.

Liberty County High football team first-and-goal on the 1-yard line and can’t score in the fourth quarter, and you want to blame the officiating for the game. You need to take a look at what’s happening with the coaching staff. Teach kids to accept responsibility for themselves.

Someone in the Walthourville area is letting their dogs out early in the morning. They came on my back porch, injured and terrorized my cat and also ruined my potted plants. Please keep your dogs at home.

This day, Sunday the 18th of October, is a day that has been specially set aside by God to separate the sheep from the goats. You might not realize it now, but you will find out in another couple of weeks that it has been, so you better make up your mind to do the right thing and treat people right.

Snelson-Golden crossing guards need to settle down. They have me late for work every day.

To Sunday’s caller: I’m just curious, what business is it of yours if someone at the water department writes a personal check to help pay someone’s bill? You don’t know if they’re friends or not so mind your own business because one day, someone who works in the water department might have to write a personal check to pay your bill.

Where’s the customer service in Liberty County offices?

The crossing guard in front of Snelson needs to learn how to direct traffic. Does the sheriff’s office offer a class for that?

Who’s going to save Bradwell football? Does anyone care anymore?
