The 3rd Infantry Division Band will salute the soldiers and Army families for their service and thank the neighboring communities for their support with a holiday concert, 7 p.m., Dec. 18, at Fort Stewart's Main Post Chapel.

The concert will feature traditional and contemporary holiday music, and a Christmas sing-along. The 40-member band will begin the evening with its full concert band and then perform in its brass band, woodwind trio, brass quintet, and more.

Everyone inside and outside the gates is invited to the concert. The concert is about celebration and remembrance, said 3rd ID Band chief of plans Sgt. 1st Class Frank Barlow.

"This is a holiday celebration for the Soldiers that just returned and their Families, and to remember those soldiers still deployed," he said.

The concert is also a tribute to the installation's neighbors for their enduring support of the 3rd ID and Stewart-Hunter, and a chance for fellowship in the spirit of the season. The concert also showcases the versatility of the Army, Barlow said.
