The 3rd Infantry Division Band will salute local soldiers and Army families for their service, and thank the neighboring communities for support with a holiday concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at Fort Stewart’s Main Post Chapel.
The concert will feature traditional and contemporary holiday music and a Christmas sing-along. The full 40-member concert band will begin the evening and the brass band, woodwind trio and brass quintet will perform afterward.
The public is invited to the concert, which is about celebration and remembrance, said Sgt. 1st Class Frank Barlow, the 3rd ID Band's chief of plans.
“This is a holiday celebration for the soldiers that just returned and their families, and to remember those soldiers still deployed,” Barlow said.
The concert also is a tribute to area residents for their support of the 3rd ID and Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield. The event will provide an opportunity for fellowship in the spirit of the season.
