The U.S. Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors will present a free concert in downtown Brunswick's Historic Ritz Theatre at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2007.
You'll be on your feet swingin' and swayin' with this lively group's extensive repertoire of big band sounds, bebop, Latin, contemporary jazz, standards, popular tunes, Dixieland, vocals and patriotic selections.
The Jazz Ambassadors is the United States Army's premier touring jazz orchestra. This 19-member big band, formed in 1969, has entertained all types of audiences with their diverse creative talent and gifted soloists.  The band has appeared in all 50 states, and around the world. In 1995, the Jazz Ambassadors performed in England, Wales, Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Czech Republic in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the end of World War II.
The concert is free, but patrons must get tickets prior to the performance.  Tickets are available at the Ritz, the Jekyll Island Welcome Center and at Pat's Hallmark on St. Simon's Island.
