Sound off for Dec. 10

Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity. Nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Can anyone tell me why some of these new basketball shorts look like skirts? They look ridiculous.

I'd like to know where that caller got the information about autoworkers making $70 an hour and getting $50,000 a year in retirement. And the restructuring comment sounded like borderline communism.

Thank you, Sound off reader for your stand on abortion. The reason I did not vote for Obama is that he is pro-choice. We do not kill babies for any reason.

We human beings often jump to conclusions without knowing all the facts. Instead of minding our own business, we judge others on what we perceive rather than what it really is.
I see on Friday where all the businesses and offices are open, but not the government offices. Did they get a special holiday? We taxpayers pay their salaries.

That caller challenging black pastors and Christians over voting for someone who can support on abortion should do it to their face, not through Sound off.

This is to the caller who said we don't need Pelosi, Reid, Franklin and Dodd running the country. How about George Bush running it? Wake up, people, smell Iraq.

You mean we don't have no blacks going into the Liberty County Athletic Hall of Fame this year? That goes to show you what the board of directors was thinking.
