Here are some of the issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

A special thank you to all the men and women at Fort Stewart for the spectacular event on Dec. 18. And thanks to all the men and women of the armed services for keeping us safe and please bring them all home safe soon.
I am a visiting nurse and recently came upon several seniors really worried about their credit and loans. Creditors call constantly through the course of my visits. Creditors should put off collections over the holidays. The seniors hardly get enough to live on.

I know what red velvet cake is, but can someone tell me what black velvet cake is.

It was nice having the Georgia State Patrol out on Dunlevie Road checking licenses. They should come late at night or early in the morning to catch some of these speeders. It’s like a drag strip out here then.
Where is our law?

What is it with all these lame Sound offs? The calls used to be for all the juice and gossip of Hinesville. Please send in some juice. I want some gossip.

There once was this lonesome old man that got a call one evening about 9 o’clock from a special little someone who told him how much they thought of him. What a difference.

Please, how did folks wrap Christmas gifts before we had Scotch tape?
