Here are issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not know if they are true, nor do we know what motivated the callers:

Y’all need to undo the darned timers on the lights in Liberty County, especially after midnight. You can sit through what should be three red lights.

Notice how bad traffic has gotten around Hinesville? Wait until the new brigade gets here. It will be like driving in downtown Atlanta. They’ll bring new jobs all right, the police, car insurance agencies and car repair shops because of all the wrecks.

When are they going to get the road fixed on Memorial Drive? It’s nothing but a big hassle. You’ve got to go all the way around to get to where you want to go.

Here’s a way to avoid collection calls: Pay your bills or, at the least, call and make arrangements.

If going down 196 is a waste of time, go on down 84 to Midway and pick up 17 into Savannah. It’s only two miles farther and you won’t have to deal with any construction.

Does the city of Walthourville really need a police department? Citizens, wake up. We don’t need a police department.

I’m a Vietnam veteran. In the old Army that deserter would have spent his time waiting for a trial in jail. I don’t understand what is going on.

I was informed today, Feb. 13, that the city of Walthourville does not have a police department. Look out, crime.

The entrance to the industrial park is pathetic, what a waste of money.
