Here are issues area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously, so the Courier does not know if they are true, nor do we know what motivated callers:

Reference the daytime burglaries. Hinesville, you have a built-in crime scene. The alternate school goes half days in two sessions. The rest of the time, students are walking the streets looking for something to do.

I 100 percent agree with Mr. John Howard in the Courier, “Taxes make landowners mad.” He should be congratulated for putting down what the whole county knows but maybe won’t admit.

I think we really need to look at the adult entertainment facilities, noted in your paper here on the morality issue. I understand I have the right to choose, but we do not have the right as citizens to elect people who will bow down to two installations of adult entertainment.

Why do we have to go out of state, like Washington, South Carolina and Florida to get someone to come into Liberty County and tell us how to manage our county? That’s a high paying job. Surely we have someone here who can tell us what would be good for the county.

The Republicans are finished. At every angle they tried to fight the president he outsmarted them. So now, live with it.

Look what God did with 12 apostles. We’ve had 43 white presidents and one black president. Palin will probably be number 44 in 2012. So God says pray for those who have rule over you.

How exceeding wonderful it is that conservative, right-wing, Republican politics have self-destructed to the extent that their primary spokesperson is that flaming gas bag, Rush Limbaugh. Happy days are here again.
