I’d like to say to Carolyn Smith Carter, you ran a good race. You should have won. Me and my family supported you.

Everything I’ve learned about economics, you don’t raise taxes when times are bad. People are having a hard enough time of making ends meet and property values are going down, so why are taxes going up here.

Public hearings such as the tax increase or any increase that requires public hearings two or three times should be conducted after normal working hours and it should be in places where you have plenty of parking and places to sit and hear and see.

What we do today we will have to answer for tomorrow. You should never take people for granted.
