Here are some of the issues that area residents are discussing. The statements were phoned in anonymously so the Courier does not vouch for their veracity. Nor do we know what motivated the callers:

 

Citizens of Liberty County, beware. There are purveyors of filth trying to make a buck off the families of Liberty County. There is supposed to be an adult entertainment service trying to get zoned into Flemington. The public notice is in the Courier.

I would like to challenge the black pastors and black Christians to justify how they can vote for someone who believes not only in abortion but late-term abortion.

It is a great day to be an America. We have our first African-American president. And, most of all, Carey Hilliard’s has half-priced hot wings.

I can’t believe the Demos want us to bail out the auto people. They pay assembly workers $70 an hour. Some of them get $50,000 a year in retirement. Most of us get less than $10 an hour. They need to restructure.

The stuff they are selling to seniors, they need to let the seniors wear it to school. They are seniors, for God’s sake, leave them alone.

Stop trying to recapture your youth. It’s not coming back, so stop acting like a 20-year-old.
