LEADENVILLE I loved everything about school supplies as a student.

I adored picking out pencil cases in August, selecting brand new notebooks from the colorful array at the store and arranging it all perfectly in a brand new backpack.

Before the time when mechanical pencils, let alone laptops, became the norm, it was my favorite thing to get a quarter and walk down the halls at Wasatch Elementary and buy a new, unsharpened pencil. Then, when you were allowed by the teacher, going to the back of the class to use the hand sharpener. I remember that oddly satisfying feeling when the friction lessened as the wood shavings were quickly flicked away to reveal a perfectly pointed piece of lead.

In a video made by Mike and Lauren, the engine from a nitro RC car is turned into a working gas-powered pencil sharpener. Yes, its all as ridiculous as it sounds, which the YouTuber acknowledges.

It reminds me of something TV dad Tim Allen would create that would inevitably have it send him to the emergency room.
