Boy Scouts honor veterans

Hinesville Chapter 789, Vietnam Veterans of America, received a certificate of appreciation for their support of the recent Order of the Arrow regional conclave. The conclave was April 27-29 at Camp Blue Heron and attracted more than 1,000 youth and adult members of the Order of the Arrow from Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. The Order of the Arrow is the honor camper society of the Boy Scouts of America. Members are involved in service to the Boy Scouts and the community. The certificate was presented to Butch Hemingway (left), president of Chapter 789, by Lil Shurtleff, Order of the Arrow member from the Tomo Chi-chi Lodge.
