The Hinesville Fire Department battled two brush fires in the Mills Creek subdivision area Thursday afternoon which damaged over an acre of woods. According Hinesville Fire Department Capt. Robert Kitchings, both fires burned about half an acre each and at one point structures which were 30 to 40 feet away were in danger.
