Mark Griffin, regional publisher of the several area newspapers and magazines, is leaving this week to take the position of coordinator of community education for Bryan County Schools.
Griffin has been with Morris Multimedia, which owns the publications, for more than 30 years.
For the past decade, Griffin has been publisher of several Morris publications in the region, including the Coastal Courier, Liberty Life magazine, the Bryan County News and The Frontline, a weekly newspaper that serves Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield.
“I have loved being part of what local newspapers do so well — celebrating a community’s growth and progress, grieving its losses, telling the stories of extraordinary people and helping voters and leaders make good decisions by providing insight into issues that matter,” Griffin said. “I will miss that, but I’m looking forward to a new challenge with an organization that offers incredible opportunities to children, families and adults in Bryan County.”
Griffin will direct Bryan County’s Community Education Program, which offers after-school care, specialized classes in sports and various arts, summer camps and more.
His last day with Morris Multimedia is to be Friday.
